  • Condition: The Spotlight works, will project a lot of material see the postcard that I put in it. Generates noise and heat. The model is TS-5. There are plenty of marks, but I don't see any dents or damage. The mirrors look okay. It is brown in color and made of steel, including the handle on top. Weighs quite a lot, somewhere between 20-30lbs. Also, is quite large: height is 20" x width 13" x depth (front to back) 17". There are two front feet, made of a black plastic/rubber, which can be used to raise the front about 2.5-3" by turning a knob on the side. At the back there is a glass plate sitting in a tray that slides out where you put the material on, beneath it there is lever that raises a metal surface to the glass, purpose of I'm not sure. On the side there is a knob that focuses the lens on to the image. The lens is 5 2/8" in diameter. Still could be used in a school. Bought at a yard sale, where seller said his artist wife used to project photographs on to canvas that she would paint.

    The Spotlight for Opaque Materials Model TS-5 J.Y. Taylor Co. Garland Texas. Working condition. See photograph of postcard projected on to door about 10 feet away to see how it works. Heavy and large. Has wear with marks, made of steel. Mirrors inside and the lens likely would need a little cleaning. Power cord looks good made of heavy rubber/plastic. When I took the photographs with it on, the lever that raises a metal surface to the glass tray was positioned where the surface was not raised and that is why there is light coming out the back. Things to consider before buying are; it is big and heavy, it makes noise and generates a lot of heat when turned on for a long time. No replacement bulbs. Estimated age is early fifties, if not earlier. No instructions. See photographs for condition. Thank you.
