Leslie Round Sound Machine Model 105 Very Rare Speaker
There’s a handful of these out there, I found one on reverb that’s been converted to work with a guitar. From what I understand these never went into full production and were intended to be a add on for low price organs.
The design is not your typical Leslie design as there’s no horn rotor so it’s not going to have that classic Leslie sound. Instead you have a rather anemic looking 8” driver that feeds into a foam rotor with a single speed. There’s also a 3” upward facing driver that’s been hi-passed. How this thing sounds is a mystery to me since I haven’t played audio through it. I’m thinking it sounds like taking through a fan. Also there isn’t an onboard amplifier.
In all honesty this is more a curiosity than anything else, if you like to tinker or you’re a collector this could be very interesting to own. With its tiny 8” driver there’s no way you’ll be doing any gigs with this item.
I had some links but eBay in their infinite wisdom disabled them, apparently eBay is afraid that I’m doing business outside of their precious eBay world but in reality I’m trying to provide information to potential customers which is good for all parties involved. Eventually I’ll set up a Facebook page and provide useful information via that platform. Till then I suggest you do a Google search and there’s a few websites and even a video of one working.
